Tutor / Trainer Role

Assigning Tutors to a course is possible in the creation or editing process via the "Tutors" tab. Here the administrator will be able add "+" Tutors from a pool of users to which they have clearance on that are also assigned to a "Tutor" group. Each assigned Tutor can then receive a course specific "Tutor role" that will determine the level of functionality available to the Tutor for the course. The standard Tutor roles include:

  • Course manager: Access to all functions in the "Course overview" and "Course instruction" functions with exception of "What"s new".

  • Tutor: Access to all functions in the "Course overview" and "Course instruction" functions with exception of "Audit log".

  • Trainer: Can view the course in the "Course overview", see participants in "Course instruction", communicate with participants (Email), view test/feedback submissions, and preview the course.

  • Expert: Can view the course in the "Course overview", see participants in "Course instruction" and receive communication.

  • Guest instructor: No functional access to the course, but will receive email updates

Furthermore, Tutors can be linked to a "Person" type resource which provides Tutors with additional functionality such as managing their bookings, viewing their course delivery schedule via a calendar, set their availability periods, planning holiday blackout periods and receiving individual feedback from course participants.
