Classification Assignment

Classifications are used to categorise learning objects into structured topics. The sub-classifications can be assigned to divide learning paths, course templates, courses, media, test, and feedback-form questions into categories or structure them by subject. This facilitates the search for objects with similar subjects, E.g. in the catalogue or upon assignments to other objects.

The availability of this tab depends on the system configuration. Any number of classifications can be added or removed. Which classifications are assigned varies by the settings of the main classifications which contain the classifications.

Benefits of Classifications

  • Catalogue searching

  • Randomising test questions in a “Test series”

  • Filtering admin searches and reports to show specific content

  • Gamification rules are based on completing the content of specific classifications

  • Learner “Interests” workflow to alert of new catalogue content

Hints & Tips

  • Only sub-classifications can be assigned to objects, so there must be at least two levels.

  • Ensure “Execute/View” clearance is provided to the groups that need to see the classifications throughout the system.
