Settings are used here to configure skill management.

What does the setting do?

Skill management enabled

General settings

Default skill scale

Determines the default Skill Scale to be assigned to new skills.

Hide qualification

Determines if the qualification information is hidden in the competencies overview in the Staff pool.

Skill confirmation mode

The confirmation mode affects the self-assessment of skills achieved by staff members.

Following default settings for skills in the skill manager can be selected:
Confirmation not applied: The skill can be assessed by staff members. This assessment will not have any effects on the achievement level
Confirmation by supervisor/administrator required:The level of achievement assessed by staff members will become the officially achieved status when confirmed by a supervisor or administrator.
Denial by supervisor/administrator possible:The skill will be directly displayed as "confirmed". This can then be changed or set to decline at a later date by the supervisor or administrator.
Confirmation by completing a learning activity:Self-assessment by the learner or confirmation by the supervisor/administrator is not possible. The skill can only be acquired by completing a learning activity.

Job profile confirmation mode

Following default settings for job profiles in the job profile manager can be selected:
Confirmation not applied: The job profile can be added freely and will not be subject to further reviews.
Confirmation by supervisor/administrator required:The job profile selected by the member of staff will be officially approved once it has been confirmed by a supervisor or administrator.
Denial by supervisor/administrator possible:The job profile will be directly displayed as “confirmed” if staff search for it. This can then be changed at a later date.
Only confirmation by supervisor/administrator possible:The job profile can not be declined by supervisor/administrator but can be approved.

Import settings

Skill assignment data can be imported via a standard .csv file to assign skill data to users, along with achieved levels and expiry dates. These settings relate the skills assignment import file and subsequent import log file that is generated.

Import file encoding

Determines the character set coding of the CSV files for the Skill assignment import file.

Relative import file upload path

Relative path to the source file. Referenced is the current data directory of the LMS server.

Import file separator

Indicates the character string for the field separation in the rows of a CSV file. The character string TAB identifies the tab character.

Log file name prefix

Prefix for log file names.

Log file encoding

Determines the character set coding the LMS uses when creating CSV files for the export log reports.
