Configuration Manager - Language

The “Languages" menu is where available languages for the "Platform" and "Content" are defined. The "Platform" languages define the entire system wording and language packs must be ordered, then activated in the licence to activate. "Content" languages are not licenced and any available language (200+) can be enabled and added to types (E.g. Course types, Media types, Learning path types) to describe objects in desired languages.

Platform languages

On this tab the platform languages can be added. To use a platform language a license for each language is needed. In the client manager, it is then possible to specify which language can be used as the platform language for the respective client.

One language needs to be defined as default language. In case of translation gaps the wording is shown in the default language.

Content Language

The content language is the language in which the content can be created on the platform. There are more content languages than platform languages, meaning content can be created even this language isn’t a platform language.

One language needs to be defined as default language. If a content isn’t available in the preferred working language of the user, the content will be shown in the default language.
