Link

A Link is a media type that points to external or web-hosted content instead of storing the file itself. Rather than uploading anything, it works like a bookmark: it sends the learner to an outside website, a web app, or a document living in the cloud.

What it is

A Link object holds a target URL plus some metadata around it (title, description, thumbnail, display settings), so it can sit inside a course, a catalogue, or a channel like any other piece of content. When a learner clicks it, the platform opens that address either inside the LMS itself or in a new browser tab.

Typical use cases

A Link can point to an outside article, a documentation page, an online tool, or a news site. It works just as well for a live document hosted on SharePoint, Google Workspace, or OneDrive, or for a video sitting on YouTube, Vimeo, or Loom. It also covers the case of sending learners straight into an external application, a web-based simulator, or a third-party portal.
