Export Search Results

The search results data can be exported by the user as files in the EXCEL and CSV formats. Appropriate icon buttons are found in the header bar.

Excel Export

A file with three or four sheets is generated for exporting in the Microsoft EXCEL format (Excel file with the xlsx ending):

• The sheet with the "Data" title contains the data from the results table in the same order. But the restrictions in the depiction are ignored: Lines that are not displayed because they are located on other pages are exported as are hidden columns that are attached to the right.

• The sheet with the "Metadata" title contains metadata including the active search criteria, the creator of the export and the time stamp.

• If the grouping function is activated, an additional sheet "Grouping results" is attached. The table is a statistical analysis of the grouping and lists the number of data records that are summarised under each group value that occurs.

Since a report may be comprised of a lot of data records and result in bottlenecks when creating the export, the system offers the option to not download the Excel file above a particular number of data records immediately but rather starts the export in the background. In this case, the file generated is later sent to the user by e-mail.

CSV Export

The export in the CSV format (file with the csv ending) provides the same information as the Excel export but without any specific optical preparation.
