AVETMISS Export
The AVETMISS functionality is an add-on module specific for Australian registered training organisations (RTOs). If the AVETMISS module is activated and configured in the system, there are many immediate changes including:
New personal attributes required to describe students are automatically created.
New meta tags required to describe accredited trainings are created.
Location creation is enhanced with option to mark AVETMISS relevance.
Provider creation is enhanced with option to flag AVETMISS providers.
AVETMISS marking options are available in Courses and Learning Paths menus.
The "AVETMISS export" menu item is available in the Settings. The export files required for reporting can be generated easily with this functionality and downloaded as a .zip archive.
Once activated further manual configuration tasks generally include update of user profiles with new personal attributes, creation/update of enrolment forms with new personal attributes, course type updates with new meta tags, learning path type updates with new meta tags, training delivery “location” creation, and creating the “AVETMISS export” menu. These would normally be completed in a project with the assigned imc Consultant.
As of imc Learning Suite 14.16 the LMS supports the AVETMISS 8.0 file format and USI 3.0. With USI integration this will require manual configuration by imc to generate a new machine credential.
Create an AVETMISS export
An AVETMISS export needs to be created before the export files required for reporting can be generated and downloaded, This is where information, including the start and end date of the export period, is specified.
Create an AVETMISS export
The user can create an AVETMISS export by clicking on the "Create" button. A form then opens which can be used to configure the AVETMISS export.
Name (mandatory field)
The user must specify a name for the AVETMISS export, such as "Export for January to June".
Start and end date (mandatory fields)
The user must specify the start and end date of the export period. These can be selected without restriction. Reporting is typically done at the end of a quarter. As a rule, an export always includes the data from all previous quarters in a year. For example, an export completed at the end of June, i.e. at the end of the second quarter, contains all data from 1 January to 30 June.
Description
In this optional field, the user has the option to enter a description for the AVETMISS export.
Provider
In each case, an AVETMISS export is provider-specific. In this selection field, the user can select the provider for whom the AVETMISS export needs to be executed.
Execute an AVETMISS export
After creating an AVETMISS export, the user can execute it and download the export files required for reporting.
To do this, the user begins by selecting the required export from the list of exports available.
The user can then begin the export by clicking on the "Export" button.
After the export is complete, a "Download NAT files" button appears in the "Details" section.
The user can click on this button to download the export files as a .zip archive.
The user can then use the downloaded .zip archive to check and submit the export using the NCVER AVETMISS validation software.
