Learning Analytics Manager acts as a bridge between the Microsoft Power BI service and imc Learning Suite.

Functions of the Learning Analytics Manager

Edit

For each dashboard and report, the following configuration needs to be done.

Name

Name is an uneditable field.

Description

After the configuration, the description would be available on the LA landing page on the dashboard and report tiles and inside the report and dashboards.

Help Content

After the configuration, the help content will be available in the reports.

Person Clearances

Person clearances should be chosen if the target user of the report or dashboard wants to evaluate learner data. The user would be able to see only those learners whom he has permission to see. In addition, the user would be able to see the objects linked to those learners. These can be further refined to Direct supervisor relationships, Edit rights to a user, View rights to a user, and BU supervisor/Deputy responsibilities.

Object Clearances

Object clearances should be chosen if the target user of the report or dashboard wants to evaluate object-related data. The user would be able to see only those objects whom he has permissions to see. In addition, the user would be able to see the learners linked to those objects.

Clearances

The clearances would be handled as usual in imc Learning Suite.

On enabling “Create”, the user can copy the report. It is not possible to copy an existing standard dashboard. To create a dashboard, the user must log in to the Power BI service and pin the visuals from a report to a dashboard to serve his needs.

On enabling “Execute”, the user would be able to view the report or dashboard.

On enabling “Edit”, user would be able to edit the report. It is not possible to edit an existing standard dashboard. To edit an already existing dashboard, the user must log in to Power BI service and edit the dashboard there.

On enabling “Delete”, the user would be able to delete the report. It is not possible to delete an existing dashboard. To delete an already existing dashboard, the user must log in to the Power BI service and delete the dashboard there. Please note in case of deletion of a report either from the PowerBI service or from the system, there is no recovery mechanism supported. Please delete the report cautiously.

Synchronize

Synchronisation functionality syncs the dashboards that have been created and the reports which have been published to the Power BI workspace connected to the customer system to imc Learning suite.

After the synchronisation process is completed, the reports and dashboards will be available in LA Manager for further configuration.

The dataset model configuration is done in the file ModelConfig.json.
The JSON configuration file can be downloaded from LA MANAGER, inside LMS, by clicking the Export LA Configuration button.
