Cost Centres
Cost centres are used to create a central list of values that are displayed both as a meta tag and a personal attribute. The meta tag can be assigned to course types, course templates, courses and resources; whereas the personal attribute is assigned to user profiles or enrolment forms. The cost centre meta tag and personal attribute can be added to course reports to allow accounting for the cost of courses or resources that determine charging.
Upon creating a cost centre, a permanent key has to be issued. To prevent cost-centre name changes from affecting reporting, the key cannot be changed after the fact. Keys can diverge from the cost-centre IDs of the learning platform.

VersioningHints & Tips
Unlike selection lists, there is no import of cost centres possible.
Cost centres can be added to course reports via the “Meta tag list” and “User list” functions.
The COST_CENTRE personal attribute can be added to a user profile and enrolment forms. If the cost centre of a user is fixed then it is better as a profile attribute. If the cost centre may change for different training courses then adding to an enrolment form as “Order data” is the recommended approach. For course requests with supervisor approval, it's possible to have the supervisor select the cost centre via the “Booking requests” approval panel dashboard.
There is no standard report available that calculates charging given the differing requirements of different customers.
Entries created in the Cost-centre function consider clearances, so make sure clearances are applied to each entry for users or groups that require access.
