Export Templates
This function allows to define export templates for the creation of documents listing participants. In the participant manager of courses, the participants can be exported by choosing one of the available templates. This allows to create of either a document for each participant or to generate of lists of participants. Furthermore, it is also possible to generate participant lists in the course instruction. On the participants tab for the participants of a course, on the syllabus for the events within a course. Based on the configuration the result is either a zip file containing a CSV and a Word template for a manual merge or a ready-to-use Word document. There are four different export options:
Template and CSV
One document per participant
One page per participant
Participant list in a document
The base for an export is a Word template that fits to the target output format and uses the correct placeholders. The following chapters describe how to set up such a template.

If you want to use the export option "Participant list in a document" create a table that has one row and put there user related placeholder
Make use of the header section, if you are planning to use the export option "Participant list in a document". Here you can define the basic course data which is shown then always on the top, even if your list spans several pages. This should also include the headline of your participant list.

The preview offers the option to check the template including the used placeholders.
Download Placeholders
The export templates manager allows to download of a CSV file that contains all available placeholders. It contains the following three columns:
Name of the placeholder
Context of the placeholder (course, location, enrolment or user)
Placeholder
The export templates require that the correct placeholders are used. The following placeholder exists:
Specific course data
Course meta tags (system and custom)
Media meta tags (system and custom)
Person attributes (system and custom)
Course location data
Enrolment data
Limitation of Placeholders
The system allows to use all course meta tags, media meta tags, and all person attributes as placeholders. As some of them can contain sensitive data, they can be excluded. This can be done by a system admin in the configuration manager. Sensitive system meta tags and person attributes are disabled by default.
Usage of Placeholders in Word
To use a placeholder in Word you need to enter a dynamic field which is part of the quick parts tools. To add a field to a document, click the Insert tab in the text group and click the quick parts button. Search in the definition for the field name "MergeField" and enter as field name as the placeholder. You can ignore the further settings and press ok to insert it. Afterwards, it can be styled as needed.
