Quick Enrolment via QR Code

The QR code is provided in a PDF document alongside a link that can also be used for enrolment. If the learner was not previously logged in, providing credentials is mandatory, after which the enrolment process is triggered. If previously logged in, enrolment begins immediately after scanning the QR code.

The QR code can be provided either by sending the PDF file by email or by printing it for scanning in the course room.

Details

The Course Manager is opened to display the full list of courses. After the desired course is selected for learner enrolment, the QR code button can be selected. The button is located on the Navigation bar and can also be configured in the Navigation manager.

Corse option to create course specific QR-Code

When the button is clicked the download will be triggered and the administrator will get a PDF file containing the following information:

  • course image

  • course name

  • course type

  • course dates

    • start date

    • end date

  • QR Code

  • URL link

Scanning the QR code redirects the user to the system based on the URL embedded in the QR code, and access to the details page is based on the rights granted.

The following cases determine whether the course details page can be accessed:

  • The user has direct ACLs on the course -> the course details page is accessible

  • The user has a status on the course -> the course details page is accessible

  • The user does not have direct ACLs and does not have a status (all statuses available on the course, except NULL) but has access to the course through a catalogue -> the course details page is accessible

  • The user does not have direct ACLs, does not have a status and does not have access to the course via any catalogue -> then an error page is shown as the course is not available to the user.

The QR code button functions for only one course at a time. Multiple selection and generation of QR codes are not permitted; therefore, the button is disabled.
