External Tool (LTI 1.1)

The following steps explains the general connection to the LTI v1.1 tool provider.

• LTI 1.1 Launch URL
  Mandatory, please specify the LTI 1.1 Launch URL, which is the URL given by the provider that should be called to launch the tool. 

• Consumer key
  Optional, specify Consumer key if required by the provider. The key will be used to sign messages. 

• Shared secret
  Optional, specify Shared secret if required by the provider. The secret will be used to sign messages. 

• LTI Organiser ID
  A clear identification for this LMS. The DNS name of the organisation is usually used. If this field is empty, the host name of the learning platform is used.

• Transfer group and team information (BizQuiz)
  LTI provider transmits group and team information. These can currently be used by the BizQuiz application and are also intended for it. BizQuiz is the name of the application.

The values for “LTI Launch URL”, “Consumer key” and “Shared secret” are given by the LTI Provider and may require some registration or payment depending on the used provider.
