Re-certification - Initial Due Date Calculation

When the user is assigned to the template via the Scheduled Job and no course is available, an initial due date is calculated for the user to give a first hint till when the user needs to complete his first course.

There a two options to calculate the initial due date.

• based on a fixed due date

• base on DD/MM

Based on a fixed due date

Fixed Due Date: The users in the group should have completed the course/learning path by the specified date.

The later of fixed due date and (date of assignment + days to finish) should be taken as initial due date:

• If the learner is enrolled after the selected due date, the due date for this learner is calculated as follows. Assignment date + days to finish.

• If the learner is enroled shortly before the specified due date (due date - days to finish), the assignment date + days to finish is used.

Based on DD/MM

You can select a day and month as basis for the initial due date calculation. The initial due date will be calculated with reference to this day and month relative to the current date. If the day and month from this fields are set after the current date, then the due date year will be the same as the one from the current date otherwise the due date will be set to the next year at the same day and month.

When the job runs, the relative due date in the future and "assignment date + days to finish" are compared and later date is taken as the initial due date on the course template level.
