Impact of the Equivalence Relation Definition
Based on the available equivalence relation rules, the outcome is that courses and will be marked for learners as "triggering" or “triggered by”. This applies for passing and covering relations.
Learners can be set to passed by a passing relation defined in the equivalence manager. The cronjob EqsCourseCompletionJob needs to be executed to achieve the status change.
If in a course the setting “Digital signature only possible with 100% progress“ is selected learners will not be set to passed by EQS.
In case a course status is changed by an administrator after it was once passed by EQS, the learner will not be set to passed by the EQS cronjob again.
Impact in the Learning Path
All components that are marked for the learner as "triggering" or “triggered by”, are displayed accordingly. This also applies for components affected by passing or covering relations.
The outcome is also that the "triggered" component will count towards the progress, even if it is not completed by the learner, but by the equivalence.
Impact on Learning Logic and Prerequisite Handling
The course status gets changed by EQS passing relations to passed. So the learning logic and prerequisite handling will continue as if the learner has passed the course himself.
Impact on maximum available places and seat limitation
The maximum number of available places is not reduced when a participant is passed by EQS. However, when a participant was passed by EQS on a course with maximum available places and is set to enrolled or in progress afterwards, the number of available places will be reduced.
Learners , which are in a target group with seat limitation, will be passed by EQS and the number of seats will be consumed. In addition the seat limitation is not applied for learners passed by EQS.
