A resource of the type "Service" represents a supporting offering booked alongside a course, such as catering or room care.
Description
The following settings are available when creating a service resource:
|
Setting |
Description |
|---|---|
|
Keywords |
Keywords for finding objects. Enter as comma separated for multiple words. |
|
Active from |
A date can be defined for a resource indicating from when the resource will be available for planning or booking. The date can either be entered manually in the language-dependent date format or selected using the calendar window. |
|
Active until |
A date can be defined for a resource indicating until when the resource will be available for planning or booking. Once the date has passed, the resource can no longer be planned or booked. The date can either be entered manually in the language-dependent date format or selected using the calendar window. |
|
Availability |
The availability settings enable establishing availability periods for resources. The resource is therefore only available to be booked within the planned intervals; E.g. a fixed number of hours for planning and booking on set days (Mon-Thurs, 9am-5pm). |
|
Location |
The "Location" is a functional field that displays a list of available locations that have been created in the "Locations" function. Selecting a location indicates where a course or event will take place and when displayed on the course homepage additional information about the location can be viewed by clicking on the name. Furthermore locations can be assigned to resources and when integrating resources into a course or media, they can be filtered according to the location. |
|
Capacity |
A value can be entered for the capacity which defines a maximum available volume for the resources; E.g. the number of seats in a classroom. When planning or booking in the planning calendar, a contingent can be selected from here. |
|
The resource can be booked multiple times simultaneously |
Determines if the resource can be booked multiple times at the same time. This setting allows the user to book resources for several courses or medias at the same time. There is no volume limitation for the course, E.g. the execution of the course requires internet access, which needs to be approved as a resource. |
|
The resource can be booked simultaneously along with another resource |
Determines if the resource can be booked for several courses or media items at the same time; taking a volume limitation into account. This setting could be used for devices such as projectors where multiple are available or for services. An available contingent also needs to be selected when booking. Normally this would not be enabled for person or location based resources. |
|
Maximum number of simultaneous uses |
Specification of the maximum number of times this resource can be used simultaneously. |
|
Resource is participant-specific |
This setting allows the user to directly pre-book or book resources in the user management of a course to which the resources have been assigned. Course users can also book the resources themselves within the course. An example is the pre-booking of a hotel room for an external provider, who can then reserve the room themselves within the course. |
|
Scheduling notes |
This field is to serve as a hint when booking a resource. For example, it comprises comments on the recommended lead time or booking process. |
|
Status |
The selection of a status is required to activate or deactivate the resources. This status is independent from the availability periods and the status determines the visibility of the resources in the resource selection screens. |
|
Number |
If the resource is, for example, a device with a serial number, this number can be entered here. |
|
Cost per resource |
If a fee needs to be charged for a resource, a standard value can be entered with the corresponding currency for the costs. A resource cost report will calculate based on this figure. |
Documents
The documents of a resource can be defined at the type level, and changes at the level of individual resources can be made at any time.
