14.25 Feature Highlights
Each innovation pack contains some featured highlights that are either major updates introducing new functionality, or important updates for features that are widely utilised. Below are the featured highlights for IP25:
AI-Enhanced Search
Overview: Scheer IMC are proud to release the first iteration of a new AI Enhanced Search function. This has been a long-term innovation project that has undergone beta testing with select customers and received many subsequent updates. Whilst a new content search may seem simple this has been a massive development effort with many challenges to overcome including technology, security, usability, performance, and cost efficiency.

The AI Enhanced Search provides a deeper search than the traditional catalogue search as all catalogue and channel content available to the learner are considered. It searches through titles, keywords and descriptions of contents. The enhanced search query returns relevant content and that is ranked according to relevance to the search. The search can be configured as either a Lexical (exact phrase) or Semantic (AI-based) search:
Lexical Search: This mode directly matches the words from the user's query with titles, descriptions, and keywords of learning content. It’s a purely text-based lookup - no artificial intelligence involved.
Semantic Search: In this mode, both the indexed learning content and the user’s query are converted into vectors using AI technologies. This allows the system to detect semantic similarities and retrieve related concepts and themes even if phrased differently from the query.
Benefits and Use Cases: The new search enables learners to find desired content more efficiently and make more informed decisions on what content to consume. Customers with Channels really benefit from this search.

Option to search either Catalogues, Channels or All contents
Audience: Learners
This is only the first release of the AI-Enhanced Search meaning the functionality will continue to be enhanced. For further detailed information visit the 14.25 Core Updates page.
